Professor Field about Steele's book "Whistling Vivaldi":
"...this stereotype of 'black male tend to be criminals'. He was a
black
graduate student. When he was walking down the street at
night he noticed
that white people would cross the street to avoid
him, women were holding
their bags  tighter. The black student
found a strategy. If he was walking down
the street whistling
Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons' it distrupted the white peoples
reactions,
it re-classified him, as a black male interested in white culture and
therefore a black male student and not a criminal."

In class, a black male undergrade student, raises his hand:
- What's the name of the song?
- Four seasons.
- I'm gonna learn that song.
